The Japanese company Sanwa has introduced a new series of Ethernet cables with magnetically detachable connectors. These are primarily intended to protect your hardware from mechanical damage, for example in case of accidental tripping. It cannot happen to you that the connector in the motherboard is destroyed or the easel falls off the table.
Sanwa KB-SL6ABA cables support the CAT6A standard with a bandwidth of 500 MHz and reach speeds of up to 10 Gb/s. Cables are available in lengths from 1 to 10 meters and their price starts at 4180 yen (about 700 CZK) per 1 meter. Although they are more expensive than regular Ethernet cables, using them can prevent many problems and save on repair costs, according to the manufacturer.
Sure, it’s not exactly for someone who has a computer under their desk and cables routed in rails along the wall. But maybe I could see some use for me with a litter box. Even in convenience, when I often carry the laptop, the cables take a while to snap out and the connector wears out over time. And then, of course, also the jerking of the laptop, for example when tripping. It happened to me often with headphones, so I bought headphones without a cable. This could be another convenient solution.
