Maia Sandu, favorite for a new mandate

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, would obtain the largest number of votes if presidential elections were held in this country next Sunday, according to the data found in an opinion poll presented by the company iData, informs Deschide.md on Tuesday.

According to the information presented, Sandu would accumulate 27.5% of the votes, followed by Renato Usatîi with 11.6%. Alexandr Stoianoglo ranked third, with 11.4%.

According to the same survey, if early parliamentary elections were to take place next Sunday, three parties and an electoral bloc would join the new legislature in Chisinau.

Thus, PAS would obtain 37% of the number of decided voters. In second place would be the “Victoria” block, led by the fugitive oligarch Ilan Şor, with 17.1%.

The socialists of the former president of the country, Igor Dodon, would obtain 16.1%, and “Partidul Nostru” led by Renato Usatîi is credited with 11.2%.

Other political forces would not pass the 5% representation threshold.

When the mandates are distributed, PAS would obtain 46 deputy mandates, while Şor’s “Victoria” block would accumulate 21 mandates. PSRM would take 20 mandates, and “Partidul Nostru” – 14 mandates.

Finally, according to the cited survey, over 50% of Moldovans support the integration of their country into the European Union, but only 48% would vote for a referendum to amend the Constitution.

Asked if they are “for” the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU, more than 55% of respondents gave a positive answer, while 36.6% answered “no”.
