There is not much room for discussion if we propose that GeForce Now is by far the most successful of the cloud gaming services of how many coexist today. This cloud gaming is not, in reality, something as new as many people think, in fact the first proposals in this sense began to be seen during the first decade of this century, although it was somewhat more recently when the Technology has reached the level necessary to provide the elements necessary for a first-class gaming experience.
Well, there are interesting news in the service, and that is that NVIDIA has announced an update to its GeForce NOW subscription, previously known as Priority, which is now called Performance. This change implies an increase in the maximum resolution, which rises from 1080p to 1440p, offering an improvement in image quality for those users looking for a more detailed visual experience. The Performance subscription maintains a rate of 60 fps and adds support for ultrawide resolutions, allowing greater adjustment to different display configurations.
Another new feature of this subscription is the possibility of save game settings between sessions, including specific adjustments to NVIDIA RTX technologies, such as DLSS and Reflex. With this update, NVIDIA seeks to offer a more complete service aligned with user demands, simplifying the experience by allowing each game to retain the previously chosen customization parameters.
On the other hand, starting in 2025, NVIDIA will implement a limitation of 100 hours of monthly cloud gaming for its Performance and Ultimate subscriptions. This measure responds to the usage data managed by the company, according to which 94% of users do not reach that limitso the experience of the vast majority will not be affected. For those who wish to extend their hours, NVIDIA will allow you to accumulate up to 15 hours from month to month and purchase additional blocks of 15 hours at a cost of $2.99 in Performance mode and $5.99 in Ultimate. Current subscribers will be able to continue enjoying without this limit until January 1, 2026.
And there is even more news, and the technology company has announced a temporary 25% discount on GeForce NOW day passeswhich allows users to try Performance and Ultimate modes for 24 hours. This temporary access option is intended for those who want to evaluate performance before opting for a monthly subscription. Additionally, if they decide to contract the service within 48 hours, they will be able to deduct the cost of the pass on their first subscription.
As part of this update, GeForce NOW has also added a section in the user panel where each member will be able to check their gaming time in the cloudfacilitating control of monthly usage. This tool seeks to help players manage their hours and avoid surprises regarding the usage limits introduced.
