MALDIVES IN AUGUST? Here’s why it’s a good idea

Visiting the Maldives in August is often considered a taboo for travelers. But are we really sure of this? What if it’s a myth that needs to be debunked?

Maldives in August is much better than you (wrongly) think.

From monsoons to ticket prices, here’s a guide that debunks the clichés about the world’s most famous islands.

What is the climate like in the Maldives in August?

It is equatorial, so any time of the year is suitable for a relaxing vacation on white beaches, along the shores of absolutely clean sea.

In the Maldivian archipelago, in fact, the air temperature is quite stable throughout the year and, in general, remains constant around 30°C. Minimum temperatures never drop below 25°C, and humidity also remains stable and high throughout the year (between 80% and 85%).

Even the water temperatures are constant throughout the year, which guarantees, for lovers of diving or snorkeling, fantastic dives, even in summer. In short, winter swimming is not to be envied.

When are the monsoons?

Many people advise against going on vacation to the Maldives because of the monsoons and rains they bring, but is that really the case? Probably not.

You should avoid only May, June and September, when the monsoons change, while July and especially August are the green light, months in which precipitation is limited. Moreover, climate change is making summer less and less rainy.

Advantages of going to the Maldives in August

The crowd is definitely less in July and August, a choice that offers the possibility of living a different, personal, much more relaxing and authentic experience.

It goes without saying that the prices of hotels and flights are lower than in the season.

Surfing and other water sports

August is an ideal time of year for surfers as the monsoons increase the intensity of the winds, creating bigger waves, and also offer ideal conditions for fun water sports such as kitesurfing.
