The Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali, stated that it is necessary to urgently introduce order in the field of catering accommodation reservations in Serbia.

Mali and the Minister of Tourism and Youth, Husein Memić, spoke with the regional managers of the Booking company, Vladimir Indžahov and Maja Vicario, about introducing order in the area of ​​advertising unregistered accommodation on that platform, so that it operates in accordance with the current regulations of Serbia.

“An agreement was reached that we have a common goal and that we will solve this problem in the most efficient way,” Mali said.

He pointed out that the state will have zero tolerance for restaurateurs who advertise on platforms and provide accommodation services as unregistered entities, that is, entities that are not registered in the Central Information System of eTourist, which is an obligation prescribed by the Law on Hospitality.

Mali reminded that the Ministry of Tourism and Youth has established the eTourist system, through which it is necessary to register all catering establishments for accommodation.

According to him, through that platform, they submit requests for the categorization of catering facilities that are subject to the obligation of categorization, both those categorized by the Ministry (hotel, motel, boarding house, tourist resort, camp, hunting lodge), and those facilities that are categorized by the competent authority. local self-government units (domestic facilities, house, apartment, room and rural tourist household) and keep records of service users.

When submitting a request for categorization and records in the system, unique identification numbers (JID) are assigned to each recorded catering establishment.

“Considering that tourism in our country is developing at a high speed, and that last year we had 2.1 million foreign tourists, which is a growth of 20.4 percent, it is important to urgently introduce order in this area,” Mali stressed. , was published on the website of the Government of Serbia.
