Man identified for illegally possessing two dangerous snakes in Peniche – Portugal

A 49-year-old man was identified on Thursday for prohibited possession of dangerous species after two pythons were found in his home in the municipality of Peniche.

“Fhi detected a specimen of the dangerous species Reticulated Python “Python reticulatus”, from the Pythonidae family and a specimen of the dangerous species Indian Python “Python molurus”, from the Pythonidae family”, reads a statement from the GNR sent to newsrooms.

The snakes were seized and handed over in Lagos Zoological Park. The fine for the crime of keeping dangerous species can amount to 200 thousand euros.
