Man sentenced to 11 years in prison for collecting cocaine in picnic baskets

On Wednesday, Copenhagen City Court sentenced a 33-year-old man to 11 years in prison for having received, stored and redistributed no less than 120 kilos of cocaine.

In court, 33-year-old Nicklas Svale Andersen confessed that ten times in about six months he had collected deliveries of cocaine on instructions from people he did not know because he was under financial pressure.

The 33-year-old is a former child actor, where in the 00s he was in the “Treasure of the Knights Templar” films, and has not been previously punished. He himself calls it “a stupid decision”.

– I have been under financial pressure and am offered to make some quick money, is the explanation of why he started.

In the period from 15 October 2023 to 7 April 2024, he received, among other things, picnic baskets or bags of cocaine. It was through messages on a phone he was given for the purpose that he knew where and when he had to leave.

But he did not know who gave the order, nor did he always get money for the collection. When he did, it was between 5,000 and 10,000 kroner, but it was rare, the court heard.

The cocaine was subsequently stored at his residence in Copenhagen. In messages, he was told when parts of the material were to be redistributed and where he was to deliver them.

When his home was broken into in April 2024 and a picnic basket containing cocaine was stolen, he quit.

The 33-year-old subsequently felt unsafe, the court heard.

He receives the sentence.
