Man with knife attacks ambulance crew in St. Petersburg

The troublemaker was detained.

St. Petersburg police are investigating an incident involving an attack on a medical team in the Vyborg district.

It all happened last Monday evening, July 15, near a house on Engels Avenue, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg reported. The police received information that an unknown person armed with a knife was attacking ambulance medics.

The police officers who arrived at the scene detained the troublemaker. He turned out to be a 43-year-old resident of St. Petersburg. At the time of the incident, the man was intoxicated, the police noted.

The aggressor was taken to hospital. An investigation has been launched into the incident. The police added that there were no casualties.
