Mbwas Mangut, Technical Adviser of Plateau United, has exclusively told Completesports.com that there will be no margin for error when his team faces Kano Pillars on NPFL matchday 10 at the Muhammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina on Sunday.

Mangut reiterated that his team is fully prepared for the game, already tagged the ‘Northern Derby,’ and emphasised that they will have no excuses if they fail to achieve their set target.

“We’re prepared for the game. We’re already in Katsina. It’s a Northern Derby – the biggest derby game here in the North – and we’re prepared,” Mangut said.

“It’s a case of ‘no retreat, no surrender.’ We have our objective going into the game, which is the maximum three points, and I’ve drummed that into the players’ ears.

“They are aware of our mission here in Katsina, so there’s no excuse if we don’t deliver.”

Mangut admitted that Plateau United will miss some key players due to injury but declined to reveal their names.

“Yes, two of them won’t be available because of injuries, but we have to push on.

“It’s an opportunity for others to step up, and that’s it,” he stated.

Hosts Kano Pillars sit 13th in the NPFL standings with 11 points going into this weekend’s top Northern Derby against 4th-placed Plateau United, who have 14 points after nine rounds of matches.
