Manhart’s BMW M3 Touring is more powerful than a Ferrari 12Cilindri

Over the last two years or so the BMW M3 Touring has been tuned by many tuners, but perhaps no modification has been as radical as Manhart’s new MH3 800. At least in terms of performance. The tuner from North Rhine-Westphalia promises the power of well 855 HP and 1,090 Nm.

So far, Manhart has offered us several variants of the M3 with 650 hp. As a reminder, the standard engine horsepower a six-cylinder twin-turbo S58 it is currently 530 HP and 650 Nm of maximum torque. The tuner explains in detail how this new leap in performance was achieved, so let’s see…

First of all the hardware

In addition to the reprogramming of the engine electronics, it is above all the extensive hardware optimizations that transform the M3 Touring into a monster of power. New pistons and forged connecting rods work in the cylinders. There is also an intercooler from Wagner Tuning, an in-house carbon intake and exhaust system stainless steel with Remus blades. The latter is paired with the company’s exhaust pipes and 200-cell catalysts. However, the best parts are supplied – as you guessed it – without the blessing of the German TÜV. The same applies to the OPF-Delete replacement pipes (Otto particle filter).

To ensure that the standard 8-speed automatic transmission doesn’t melt away in the face of all the new power, it has also been strengthened. According to Manhart, he can now handle it up to 1,300 Nm of couple; an interesting fact because the tuner actually has two even higher power levels.

The brakes have not been modified, but the original ceramic ones should be more than sufficient. The suspensions rely on Height-adjustable coil springs of HR and an additional carbon fiber strut.

In the photos you can also see the gold colored circles. They are by Raffa, mounted in the dimensions 10.5×20 inches at the front and 11.5×21 inches at the rear and tires are also available in the sizes 285/30 and 305/25.

Free rein for customization

For the bodywork Manhart offers a kit with additional parts carbon fiberincluding radiator grille kidneys, a front spoiler, a two-piece apron and a special bonnet. The side section is equipped with slits on the front fenders and sills and at the rear the kit is completed by a carbon spoiler.
