A quarter of a billion people already use ChatGPT.
Over the past two years, the main innovation in the world of technology has been artificial intelligence, which has since permeated all areas of life. Although during this time almost all major tech companies came up with their own developed models, and new companies also grew out of the ground, ChatGPT, which was the first to appear, managed to maintain its positional advantage throughout.
The company behind the generative model, OpenAI, announced a few days ago that it is again looking for investors to continue the expansion, so that it can maintain its primacy and have an even better platform. He also added a recent statistic as a point of pride that he now has 250 million users, and about a fifth of them signed up in the last month alone.
Based on the previous data that can be found, this really holds its ground, since at the end of August the site still had 200 million users, on the basis of which they could indeed register a 25 percent increase in one month. We are probably not making a big mistake if we connect this data with the school start date, since ChatGPT has been a great success among students so far.
According to press reports, in June there were even more, about 350 million regular users of the model. There is a good chance that this may be related to the end of the school year or the exam period taking place during this period. However, the published statistics do not reveal how many of the registered users use the free version, or how many are willing to pay some subscription fee for the version without restrictions.
