Mapo-gu Mayor Park Kang-soo visited the main conference hall of the Mapo-gu Council, where the Mapo-gu Children and Youth Council graduation ceremony was held on the afternoon of the 16th.
The Mapo-gu Children and Youth Council is a project designed to help children and youth directly participate and experience the decision-making process.
Through this project, children and youth council members received training on the roles and functions of local councils, participated in regular meetings, elected chairmen, and formed standing committees, and had a meaningful time proposing necessary policies for Mapo-gu.
The graduation ceremony on this day was attended by 70 people, including children and youth lawmakers, parents, and officials, and was held in the following order: a certificate presentation ceremony by Mapo-gu Mayor Park Kang-soo, commendation for excellent activists, and a commemorative photo.
Mapo-gu Mayor Park Kang-soo presented the certificate of completion and said, “You are the future and hope of our region,” and added, “If you build up the experience of speaking out with a sense of ownership, you will be able to make the world we live in a better and better place.” said.
