“I have a personal reason for concern regarding the financing of the metro from Cluj-Napoca. I also spoke with the mayor. He also knows the case very well, but you know very well that the financing was partial, it was only 300 million euros, the necessary for this investment being 2.2 billion. In any case, a source of funding had to be sought to complete the entire project,” said the prime minister.
Marcel Ciolacu stated that the response of the European Commission must be awaited and assured that solutions will be found for the continuation of the investment.
“We didn’t sit still, that is, somehow, in response to the messages we received, we had to anticipate certain things, especially since it is an ongoing investment. Maybe they should have been anticipated by the mayor, but sometimes we don’t have the information when we want it. I am firmly convinced, and with this change and from the green certificates, the metro is green transport, we will find the best solutions not to stop this investment”, added Marcel Ciolacu.
