The mobile learning platform announced, Thursday, November 7, the appointment of Marie Ybert to the position of marketing manager France.
Marie Ybert becomes Duolingo’s France marketing manager. This was announced by the platform in a press release released on November 7. With more than 10 years of experience in the field of digital and strategic marketing, Marie Ybert has held senior positions in leading international companies. Before joining Duolingo, she worked at Spotify as Senior Marketing Manager for more than three years, where she played a key role in the development of marketing campaigns for France and the Benelux.
She also worked at Google as an Agency Development Manager, where she worked with advertising agencies to maximize the impact of digital campaigns for major brands. Her expertise in digital marketing was first forged within prestigious groups such as L’Oréal and Parfums Christian Dior, where she managed CRM and digital marketing projects.
Strengthen the brand’s presence on social
In her new role at Duolingo, Marie Ybert’s mission is notably to lead the development of marketing strategies adapted to the French market, in order to increase Duolingo’s notoriety, strengthen attachment to the brand, broaden the audience and increase the number of users in France.
Likewise, she works closely with agencies for the execution of the marketing plan, with a focus on social networks, partnerships, brand campaigns and public relations. To this end, Marie Ybert surrounded herself with Brut’s Creative Factory, acting as a white label for Duolingo, and with the Ballou agency for public relations.
Finally, she also manages collaboration with the marketing and product teams to adapt messages and positioning during the launch of new features, ensuring that they meet the expectations of the French public.
In office since May 2024, Marie Ybert focused on the deployment of a strategy to strengthen the brand’s presence on the French market. One of the first initiatives since his recent arrival was the launch of Duolingo France’s social networks. In just two months, content featuring Duo, the platform’s mascot, generated 50 million organic views, and the Tiktok and Instagram accounts reached nearly 500,000 subscribers in four months.
