Marika Valk resigned as museum manager

Lihula Museum director Marika Valk hopes that in a few years, those interested will be able to get to know the Baltic German culture at the Lihula manor.

Marika Valk, who managed the Lääneranna Museum for six years, resigned from January 2, it was announced Lääneranta municipality.

Valk, who held the position of museum director since 2018, left of his own accord. “My soon-to-be 89-year-old husband needs my support and presence due to health problems. I have made the Lihula manor together with the manor ensemble viable and functional. It’s time for younger people to continue with their approach to museums and their worldview,” Lääneranna Teataja reported the words of the museum director.

According to the Lääneranta municipal government, the search for a new manager will begin in the near future. Until now, Maigi Magnus, who worked as the museum’s chief treasurer, is performing the duties of the museum director.
