Foreign. French Prime Minister Michel Barnier’s minority government could be brought down if the budget is not changed, warns the right-wing National Assembly party.
Party leader Marine Le Pen has clearly marked her opposition to the budget after a meeting with Barnier on Monday.
– My opinion has not changed, and it does not seem that the prime minister has changed either, says Le Pen according to the AFP news agency.
The government warns that France risks ending up in a severe economic crisis similar to the one Greece experienced during the financial crisis 15 years ago if the budget is not passed.
Even if the government were to fall, no new election could be held until the summer of 2025 at the earliest, which deepens the political deadlock in the country.
