The Martorell Bike Park has hosted, for the second consecutive year, the 6th and final test of the Open Bike Trial, organized by the Bike Trial Unió Catalana (BUC) with the support of the Micorella Motor Club and the Martorell Town Council. About eighty have again participated in this competition ridersdivided into 11 categories, which have put the final point on the season.
It should be noted that the Open Bike Trial is a promotion race for those athletes who do not want to run an official championship, such as Spain or Catalonia. This edition saw six tests in Bike Parks and natural terrain such as those in Caldes de Montbui, Cerdanyola del Vallès, Sabadell, Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Corbera de Llobregat and, finally, in Martorell, where the champions were proclaimed and champions of the different categories.
Pere Mas, president of the Micorella Motor Club, explains that last year they already hosted this test, in which some riders of the Championship of Catalonia: “The important thing is that we distribute the prizes for the whole season. In the Open the zones are a little easier and more people are also added to promote themselves within this sport”.

The president of the Martorelle club says that they are very excited to host this test because there has always been a small tradition for this sport in the municipality: “Now it’s Bike Trial, before it was Trial 5, and here in Martorell we started doing it in the mid-80s. Now, thanks to the City Council, the year In 2017 they gave us this space in the Bike Park, which has given us a lot of joy because it is a very special and beautiful sport”.

For Martorell, hosting this last test of the Open Bike Trial means continuing one more year in the wake of the Bike Trial, that our population is recognized within the family of this sport, born in Catalonia and that, little by little , is gaining popularity and level in Spain.
