Matthew McConaughey revealed why he left Hollywood
One of today’s most popular actors, Matthew McConaughey, revealed on the “Today” show why he left Los Angeles and decided to live in his hometown, far from the lights of Hollywood.
The decision to live a more secluded lifestyle culminated in a move to Austin, Texas.
Despite the fact that Los Angeles is the center of the film industry, McConaughey made the decision to return to his hometown. Now the actor revealed why he decided to take that step.
“This has always been home. I have a great relationship with time here – meaning, 60 seconds feels like a minute. My family is here. My mom is here. She is 92 years old. Our family is here. We have the resources and backbone of security here. I wanted my children to have what I had when I grew up,” he said.
By the way, McConaughey was born in Uvalde, Texas and grew up in Longview, Texas, he studied at the University of Texas at Austin, and he wants to show his hometown to his children.
McConaughey is married to Kamila Alves, with whom he has three children, aged 15, 14 and 11.
Although he was unfairly considered an actor for “easy” roles dominated by a “cheeky” macho look, his versatile acting talent manifested itself through the film “Dallas Buyers Club”, which also brought him an Oscar.
After that, roles of different profiles followed, and many films and series acquired cult status, such as the aforementioned “Dallas”, as well as the series “True detective”…
Known for not being a fan of perfume and similar cosmetics, McConaughey has for years “not been removed” from the list of the most popular actors, but also the most desirable men among actors.
Harper’s Bazaar magazine recently included Matthew in its list of the 50 most attractive men of all time.
