Matvienko proposed to announce the Decade of Family in Russia

This is stated in the text of her congratulations on the occasion of Mother’s Day.

“Our president has outlined the desired result in family policy for the next 12 years… for greater efficiency, we need a Decade of the Family, similar to the Decade of Childhood, the Decade of Science,” – noted Speaker of the Federation Council.

Earlier, a solemn ceremony was held in Moscow at which mothers of many children were presented with state awards.
