Max Verstappen secured his fourth Formula 1 title in Las Vegas

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen finished fifth in the Las Vegas Grand Prix and built an unattainable points lead over McLaren’s Lando Norris, thus already securing this season’s title in Formula 1. It will be a record fourth consecutive title won by the Dutchman.

Ferstappen has 403 points two races before the end of the championship in Formula 1, while in second place with 340 points is Lando Norris, who finished the race in sixth place even though he drove the fastest lap in the race.

As he states RTS, By winning the fourth title, Max Verstappen tied with Alan Prost and Sebastian Vettel for the number of titles in Formula 1, and ahead of them are Juan Manuel Fangio with five and Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher with seven titles each.

Mercedes driver George Russell triumphed in today’s race in Las Vegas, second was Lewis Hamilton, but all that remained in the background compared to the duel to win the title. As the third in the race, the Spaniard Carlos Sainz got a place on the podium, but not his colleague from Monaco, Charles Leclerc.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen thanked everyone in the team who helped him win a fourth consecutive title in the Formula 1 championship.

The Dutch driver took fifth place in today’s Las Vegas Grand Prix and thus created an unattainable points lead over McLaren’s Lando Norris with two races to go before the end of the Formula 1 championship.

“What a season, four times. Thank you to everyone, thank you to everyone in the team,” Ferstappen said over team radio after crossing the finish line and receiving congratulations for winning his fourth Formula 1 championship.

He stated that he feels relief, but also that he is very proud of the success.

“Standing here as a four-time world champion is something I never thought would be possible,” said the Dutch driver, as reported by the BBC.

Verstappen pointed out that the season was long and that it started great, as well as that the team managed to overcome worse results.

“As a team we worked together, we continued to improve the car and in the end we crossed the finish line. I’m incredibly proud of everything they did for me,” said the Red Bull driver.

Verstappen is first in the general classification with 403 points, Norris is second with 340. In the constructors’ competition, McLaren is first with 608 points, while Ferrari is second with 584.

The next race in the Formula 1 championship will be held on December 1 for the Qatar Grand Prix, while the last one is on December 8 in Abu Dhabi.
