New Bosch washing machines reduce consumption and the amount of microplastics
- The new Bosch Series 6 and Series 8 washing machines help save energy, water and detergents with each wash and reduce the amount of microplastics in waste water.
- The champion in energy savings is the Bosch washing machine WGB244A2BYwhich is 50% more economical than energy efficiency class A appliances.(1)
- Washing machine BiThermic Series 6 uses preheated water, which saves energy costs during washing.
This fall, the Bosch brand presents new models of energy-saving washing machines that not only take perfect care of your laundry, but also offer extraordinary energy efficiency.
Saving effort and resources with the new Series 6 washing machines
The new Bosch Series 6 washing machines are gentle on both laundry and the environment. They have an energy efficiency class of A-20%.(2) Thanks to the Mini Load function(3) they use up to 40% less electricity when washing smaller quantities, even when washing a single item of clothing. Are you tired of ironing? The Iron Assist program treats dry laundry with steam, reducing creasing by up to 50%.(4) The function of added steam is also useful, which adds a steam phase at the end of the washing cycle and reduces the creasing of the laundry by up to 40%.(5)
Intelligent use of heat with the BiThermic Series 6 washing machine
Do you want to reduce energy costs to a minimum? Consider the Bosch BiThermic Series 6 washing machine (WUU28T62BY). This appliance offers energy efficiency class A, but it also uses preheated water, which saves energy costs during washing. The temperature of the water in the washing machine is regulated by alternating supply of hot and cold water. Thanks to the additional use of hot water, up to 60% of electricity can be saved(6) – which is especially advantageous for users with a photovoltaic system. The Active Water Plus function reduces water consumption by up to 50% with a smaller load of laundry.(7) It automatically recognizes the filling volume and adjusts the water consumption accordingly. This washing machine is also suitable for installation under worktops with a recess height of 82 cm.
Champions in saving energy and water
The new model is the absolute champion of the Bosch brand in energy saving WGB244A2BY from Series 8: this appliance is 50% more efficient than models in the best energy efficiency class A.1 In addition, this washing machine is equipped with i-DOS automatic detergent dosing technology, which ensures perfect dosing for each washing cycle and saves detergent consumption. The bar code of the liquid detergent or fabric softener is read using the phone into the Home Connect application,(8) which sends the relevant data to the washing machine to set the optimal dosage for each wash. In this way, not only clothes that do not need to be washed as much are protected, but also the environment: thanks to the i-DOS system, approximately 38% of detergent can be saved.(9) Model WGB244A2BY it is also equipped with the Iron Assist steam program, the option to add steam at the end of the washing program or a program to effectively remove 16 of the most stubborn types of stains without prior treatment. The washing machine recognizes the type of stain and automatically adjusts the temperature, drum movement and soaking time accordingly. Another novelty from Series 8 is the model WGB25602CS with energy efficiency of class A -30%, capacity of 10 kg and spinning up to 1600 revolutions, which is equipped with the Mini Load function, the Iron Assist program and the option of added steam. Also, all new Series 2 washing machines are now more economical and available in the best energy efficiency class A.
Conscious limitation of microplastics during washing
Washing clothes is not just about energy consumption. Reducing the amount of microplastics that enter wastewater during washing is also a current topic. The Bosch brand therefore offers a new program Less microplastics, which adjusts the washing process in such a way that the release of microplastics is reduced by up to 30%. For existing Series 8 appliances and new Series 6 appliances, this program will be downloadable via the Home Connect app.8
