Mayan case relieves Rocha, but stirs up internal guerrillas in IL

A Tiago Mayan’s resignation from the presidency of the Union of Parishes of Aldoar, Foz do Douro and Nevogilde, due to forged signatures, fell like a bomb on the Liberal Initiative (IL), especially within the United for Liberalism movement, in which he was the main face and would be a candidate for party leadership. If the leadership and the movement were unanimous in repudiating the act of the former candidate for Belém, they distance themselves from the opening of disciplinary proceedings, with Rui Rocha asking for an “exemplary” and “expedited” decision from the party’s Jurisdiction Council and the -voice of the movement refusing to comment on this matter, stating that the decision rests with the competent body. “What distinguishes us was the speed with which the party dealt with the case, but it does not erase the stain”, says Expresso from a management source.
