Bruce Springsteen was my childhood hero, the Buddha of my youth (as U2’s Bono once put it), and he is my lifelong companion in adulthood. I have seen him countless times. Among other things, also for both concerts in the Park in 2023, and as I have described it before, it was an intense experience of community and togetherness, which was also characterized by an overall disturbing theme.
Because it was about the past and parting and friendship and loyalty those two July evenings last year, and even though it was a tribute to life, I also stood there in the crowd thinking that it was both a beautiful and perfect farewell to a man who is in the last phase of his career.
