The mayor of the Buşteni resort in Prahov, Mircea Corbu, is accused by a woman, administrator of a commercial company subordinated to the Buşteni Local Council, of having hit her.

Judicial sources stated, for AGERPRES, that the mayor appeared in her office, asking her to release him on the grounds that the video surveillance system would be installed there, at which point she refused, asking to be sent a information with a deadline to release the space, this being the reason why the scandal broke out between the two.

After the scandal, the mayor Mircea Corbu sent a press release in which he talked about manipulation and “politically motivated false accusations”, showing that aggression of any kind is a reprehensible act and announcing that he will prosecute these slanders.

“Recently, political opponents tried to denigrate the achievements and spread unfounded accusations. I want to emphasize that all the accusations are false and politically motivated. People with hidden interests tried to cast an unfavorable light on our activities, trying to block the initiatives aimed at the development of the city. In this context, SC Caraiman Comserv SRL (a company subordinated to the Buşteni Local Council-nr), under the leadership of Mrs. Geantă Delia, together with other local councilors, refused to collaborate for the implementation of some important projects, deliberately blocking the relocation necessary for the installation video monitoring system. Their actions endangered a funding of over 500,000 euros and, implicitly, the progress of our city. I firmly reject the defamatory accusations launched recently and the repeated attempts by Mrs. Geantă Delia to attack me, attempts already rejected by the courts as unfounded. It is regrettable that these accusations are used as political weapons in an electoral context, denoting the vile means that some political opponents resort to in order to destabilize our progress”, states the mayor in the quoted statement.
