MediaTek officially introduced the Dimensity 9400

MediaTek officially announces the new generation SoC Dimensity, namely the 9400 model. It has appeared several times in benchmark tests, but exact specifications were still missing. With the official announcement, MediaTek thus confirms a large increase in performance compared to the Dimensity 9300.

The entire SoC is built on advanced 3 nm technology from TSMC. Like the previous generation, the new 9400 will only have powerful cores, namely one Cortex-X925 (3.63 GHz), three Cortex-X4 (3.3 GHz) and four Cortex-A720 (2.4 GHz). In total, there should have been a performance increase of 15% in IPC, 35% in single-core performance and 28% in multi-core processes.

The graphics chip is the Immortalis-G925 with a frequency of 1612 MHz, which promises a 41% increase in performance, 40% faster ray-tracing and 44% better efficiency. Artificial intelligence is also not forgotten, which is supposed to be powered by the NPU 890 and will help, for example, with editing photos or deploying your own AI solutions. MediaTek it also implements the new LPDDR5X RAM.

Although the company does not officially mention where this new processor will appear, according to leaks and speculations, we can expect the Dimensity 9400 in the vivo X200, for example, but there are hints of new Samsung phones as well. The advantage of this chipset over the competition from Qualcomm is primarily the price, the cheapest phone with this SoC was supposed to cost under 600 dollars.
