Myongji Hospital (Director Jin-goo Kim) held a ceremony to unveil the ‘1st Love Sharing 100 Million Donation Angel’ to commemorate the donation of 100 million won to support low-income medical care by Samsung Construction CEOs Han Yoon-jung and Son Young-gyun, and to spread positive influence.

The unveiling ceremony held in front of the A Building entrance (next to the elevator) on the afternoon of the 16th was attended by hospital officials including Chairman Lee Wang-jun, Love Sharing Fund Chairman Park Sung-chun (Neurosurgery), Love Sharing Fund Vice Chairman Jeong Hae-dong, and Samsung Construction CEOs Han Yoon-jung and Son Young-gyun.

The relationship between Myongji Hospital and CEO Han Yoon-jung and Son Young-gyun began in 2019. Samsung Construction, run by the couple, is in charge of facility maintenance and management in the Paju and Uijeongbu areas, centered around Goyang City. As many of the facilities they manage include schools, their desire to help children in medical blind spots grew.

They did not stop at just thinking about it, but immediately took action, donating 10 million won to Myongji Hospital, and continued to donate 10 million won every year even in the difficult business environment in 2020 due to the spread of COVID-19. Last year in particular, they increased the annual donation amount to 60 million won, sharing even greater love.

Myongji Hospital, which received a total of 100 million won in donations over five years, plans to use the funds to provide medical expenses and medical support to low-income families and children in the local community who are in medical blind spots.

National Clinical Trial Support Foundation and Iwon Medical Foundation Sign Mutual Cooperation Agreement

The National Clinical Trial Support Foundation and the Ewon Medical Foundation signed a business agreement on the 16th for the advancement of domestic new drug development and clinical trials. The signing ceremony was attended by key officials of the National Clinical Trial Support Foundation, including Chairman Park In-seok, Business Division Director Baek Seon-woo, and key officials of the Ewon Medical Foundation, including Chairman Lee Deok-gu, CEO Oh Gwi-yeong, Center Director Kim Jeong-hyeon, and Vice President Choi Jae-hoon.

This agreement was made for the purpose of developing the domestic clinical trial central lab sector and increasing the efficiency of clinical trials. The two organizations are expected to contribute to the development of domestic clinical trial competitiveness through various collaborations.

A central lab is an institution that gathers samples collected from multiple clinical trial institutions into one laboratory for testing to reduce statistical variation among test results.

The main areas of cooperation include ▲sharing of medical and clinical information to improve clinical trial efficiency, ▲joint research in clinical trial-related fields such as development of specimen analysis technology and standardization of data quality, and ▲educational activities for consulting, facility, and professional training between the two institutions.

Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital ‘Regular Research Presentation by Research Doctors’ Completed

The Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital recently held a regular research presentation at the main university building to announce the research results of its research doctors.

Research doctors play a leading role in key research areas by directly carrying out research and development projects, conducting intermediary research, and promoting results creation.

A total of 8 research doctors participated in this presentation, including ▲Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine Professor Kim Hoon-seok, ▲Psychiatry Professor Park Mi-jin, ▲Dermatology Professor Yoo Seung-ah, ▲Endocrinology Professor Yoo Jin, ▲Rheumatology Professor Lee Bong-woo, ▲Orthopedics Professor Jo Seong-hyeon, ▲Ophthalmology Professor Hwang Bo-in, and ▲Radiology Professor Lee Seung-won.

Each researcher presented the purpose, method, results, and significance of the research he or she conducted, and had time to discuss the research results through a Q&A session.

Meanwhile, the hospital research department plans to further strengthen the research capabilities of researchers through regular research presentations and to leap forward as a research-oriented hospital.

Chairman Koban Lee Yong-ki donates 50 million won to Inha University Hospital Development Fund

Chairman Koban Lee Yong-ki donated 50 million won to Inha University Hospital for development funds on the 16th.

On this day, Inha University Hospital held a ceremony to present a plaque of appreciation to Chairman Lee, represented by Director Lee Taek. The plaque contained words of gratitude for his support in helping the hospital grow into a first-class university hospital and play a central role in the development of the local health and medical field.

The chairman graduated from Inha University’s Department of Metallurgy, Class of ’73, with a master’s degree in engineering, and founded and managed Koban, a ferroalloy and non-ferrous metal manufacturing company, in 1996.

He also served as the 17th Chairman of the Inha University Alumni Scholarship Association and the 30th President of the Inha University Alumni Association. He has contributed to the practice and spread of a culture of sharing by donating to the Gimpo Welfare Foundation, Inha University, and the Inha University Alumni Scholarship Association.

Korea University Graduate School of Public Health, holds graduation ceremony for the first term of the highest level course, ‘Future Medical Leadership Forum’

Korea University Graduate School of Public Health (Dean Seok-Joon Yoon) held the first graduation ceremony for the Future Medical Leadership Forum, the highest-level course. The graduation ceremony was held at the Korea University Medical Center, Goyoung Campus, at 7:30 PM on July 16. 34 people including Dean Seok-Joon Yoon of the Graduate School of Public Health, Co-CEOs of the Future Medical Leadership Forum Cheol-Jung Kim and Sung-Il Yang, as well as other key officials and graduates attended the ceremony.

The Future Medical Leadership Forum’s top-level course is a 16-week educational course that was established to explore changes and innovations in the healthcare field and to foster leaders who will lead the future of the healthcare-centered 5th Industrial Revolution.
