Meizu’s answer to the Ray-Ban Meta is finally available in Italy

The Meizu company has launched the new MYVU smart glasses in Italy, which integrate a screen projected on the lenses and artificial intelligence features. The device, imported from Imiki, aims to revolutionize interaction with AI through a wearable interface.

MYVU glasses represent a significant evolution in the field of wearables, offering advanced features such as real-time dialogue transcription, simultaneous translation and an integrated AI assistant.

MYVU glasses could revolutionize many sectors and change the lives of many people.

This technology could have a significant impact in several areas, from accessibility to productivity. Among the main features of MYVU glasses we find:

  • Two projectors in the temples that transform the lenses into green monochromatic screens
  • Microphones for audio capture
  • Bluetooth connection to smartphone for data processing
  • Real-time transcription and translation function
  • Teleprompter mode for presentations
  • Built-in GPS navigation
  • Google’s Gemini AI Assistant

The design of the glasses has been taken care of to guarantee comfort and discretion, with a weight of only 43 grams. The projected screen delivers a resolution of 1280×480 pixels and a peak brightness of 2000 nitsensuring good visibility in different light conditions.

One of the most promising applications concerns accessibility for people with hearing difficulties. Real-time transcription of dialogues could represent an effective alternative to traditional hearing aids, allowing you to read what is said in the surrounding environment.

However, the system still has some limitations. For example, it is currently unable to distinguish the voices of different interlocutors and also transcribes the user’s voice. Additionally, data processing occurs in the cloud via the connected smartphone, raising potential concerns about privacy and reliance on online services.

The developers of MYVU glasses are considering releasing an SDK (Software Development Kit) to allow integration with other platforms and applications.

The selling price of 599 euro positions MYVU glasses at the high end of the market. However, the potential offered by technology they could justify the investment for many userseven considering a price that is not excessively disproportionate when compared with the famous Ray-Ban META (which you can find on Amazon) especially in the professional field or for those with specific accessibility needs.
