A video of a Slovenian commercial from 1993, in which Melania plays the president, has now gone viral on social media. The video shows her exiting the plane and greeting the delegation, then, escorted by security, getting into a car and fixing her makeup, preparing for the inauguration. At the end of the video, with a big smile on his face, he takes the oath.
She showed interest in fashion during her schooling. At that time, she didn’t want to be a model, but a fashion designer. After winning a competition organized by the Italian fashion studio Cinecitta, she was awarded the opportunity to get her first film role.
But she turned down this opportunity after the producer asked her if they had sex. She continued to do modeling engagements. She decided to use the surname Knauss, which was derived from her real surname Knavs.
She traveled through Europe with the intention of becoming even more successful in the world of fashion. She remained in contact with relatives, while she was not in contact with the rest of the family. In 1992, she won second place in the Jana magazine Look of the Year competition.
Thanks to this success, she signed a contract with RVR Reclame in Milan, but broke off the collaboration after a few months. When she was 23, she moved to Paris. She worked with fashion houses in Paris and Milan.

She met the co-owner of Metropolitan Models agency Paolo Zampolli in 1995. At his suggestion, she moved to the United States. Thanks to Paolo, she met Donald. The two are close friends.
