Almost every user Google Photos he’s already used to being shown the so-called Memories. They also display the user’s photos that are up to several years old and thematically selected. Until now, Memories were always on a separate tab and as a full-screen notification. According to the portal AndroidPolice however, they will happen soon Timeline applications Google Photos.
The reason for the change is still a mystery
Several new commands have been found in the Google Photos source code, and the description of one of them reads: “Memories has moved to Collections”. This suggests that the Memories tab in Google Photos may soon be renamed to Timeline (Timeline).
But despite the tab being renamed, lines of code indicate that the individual auto-generated photo collections will still be called Memories. They will just be on the card Collections.

It is not entirely clear why Google decided to take this step and how these changes will affect the use of the application. However, it could lead to better control of it and faster photo searches. The change will likely appear in future updates to the Google Photos app.
