The tricolors return to the World Championship after a break of 43 years, the last edition they participated in was the one in 1982, in Argentina.

The first representative will meet them in the group, next year, on the selected teams from Poland, Holland and Qatar, following the draw of lots.

“Thank you for the trust and because the world believes that the game with the ball can cause results in Romania. I thank ANS and COSR, the former and current leadership of FR de Volei.

Last but not least to the players and the technical staff, because that’s why I’m here”, said Adin Cojocaru at the Mari Sportivi Gala.

The Romanian national men’s volleyball team reached the podium four times at the World Championships (2nd place – 1956, 1966, 3rd place – 1960, 1962), and two other times it ranked 4th.

In 1980, Romania won the only medal at the Olympic Games. In Moscow, the “tricolors” then obtained the bronze medals, defeating Poland 3-1 in the small final.
