MEPs for ANO refused to meet Prime Minister Fiala | News

According to the spokesperson of the movement, this is a reaction to Fial’s words that their union faction serves the interests of Russia.

Fiala today on the X network he wrotethat ANO MEPs were apparently banned from participation by the head of the movement, Andrej Babiš. It is a shame, but at least it is clear that they are not interested in the interests of the Czech Republic at all, he added.

Fiala said on Monday that the new faction in the European Parliament Patriots for Europe (Patriots for Europe), which also includes the ANO movement, consciously or unconsciously serves the interests of Russia and thus threatens the security and freedom of Europe. Babiš objected to the statement, according to whom Fiala is a pathological liar.

ANO movement spokesman Michal Kopenec told ČTK today that ANO representatives decided not to attend the meeting because of the prime minister’s comments. “Today’s meeting with the MEPs was attended by representatives of almost all elected political forces across the spectrum. The MEPs for ANO gradually apologized, Andrej Babiš probably forbade them. It’s a shame. But at least it’s clear that they are not interested in the interests of the Czech Republic at all,” said Fiala .

According to ANO MEP Jaroslava Pokorná Jermanová, the interests of the Czech Republic are everything to ANO representatives, which is why they founded a faction that will defend them. “If you think that after insulting us, that we are servants of Russia, and you expect us to arrive to meet with you, then you are wrong. We will not allow ourselves to be insulted! On the contrary, the interests of the Czech Republic are everything to us! That is why we founded the faction, which is supposed to defend them. The interests of the Czech Republic have been stolen from you, you have created the Spolu party, which has scattered into opposing factions. Mainly because you have warm seats.” she stated on the X network.

Meetings with the Prime Minister, Minister for European Affairs Martin Dvořák (STAN) and National Security Advisor Tomáš Pojar, in addition to MEPs from the government parties, Kateřina Konečná (KSČM) and Ondřej Dostál participated in the election for the coalition Enough!
