This week, Meta announced new features for two of its most popular platforms: WhatsApp and Instagram.
WhatsApp activates favorite chats
They are WhatsAppit’s finally possible Pin your favorite chats at the top of the Chats tab, making it easier to find your most frequent conversations. Favorite chats will appear at the top of the list, while other chats will remain below as “Recent.”
Meta explains: “Focusing on your favorites just got a lot easier on WhatsApp. Now, you can quickly find the people and groups that matter most at the top of your calls tab and as a filter for your chats. Whether it’s your family group chat or your best friend, your ‘favorites’ will be the same across your chats and calls, so you can quickly call them from the calls tab.”
To pin a chat to the top of your list on WhatsApp, tap the “Favorites” filter in the Chats tab. Then tap “Add to Favorites” and choose the chats you want to pin. This feature is rolling out now and will be available to everyone in the coming days.
Instagram Introduces Multi-Track Audio for Reels
Instagram also gets an update that content creators will surely appreciate. With the latest version, Instagram adds support for Multi-track audio in Reels. This means creators can now create videos with up to 20 different audio tracks in a single Reel.
The launch of multi-track audio in Reels gives creators more creative flexibility with the ability to visually align audio with elements like text, stickers, and clips to express their creativity in the way that makes the most sense to them and their audience.
Additionally, Instagram is adding the ability to write notes directly on Reels and Feed posts, offering users new ways to interact with content. These notes will only be visible for three days, as the idea is to share immediate reactions and hot opinions.
The new features are rolling out to WhatsApp and Instagram users. However, Meta says the features will be gradually available over the next few days worldwide. Just make sure you have the latest versions of the apps installed on your device.
