Metrorex wants to increase fares from January 1, 2025. How much will metro travel cost

“Metrorex SA proposes the adjustment of metro travel fares starting from 01.01.2025, differentiated by types of travel tickets, in the sense of balancing the unit price per trip, at the same time as encouraging the use of monthly subscriptions with advance payment that ensure the financial resources necessary to cover the expenses of exploitation, but which protects loyal travelers, the average increase being about 45%, which means a monthly increase in absolute value of the revenues from the transportation of travelers of about 11 million lei”it is shown in the project.

How much will a subway trip cost in 2025

According to the annex of the project, the fare for one trip will increase from 3 to 5 lei, that for two trips from 6 to 10 lei, for 10 trips from 25 lei to 40 lei. The last rate increase was in 2021
