Marius Borg Høiby, son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been arrested and charged with rape.
This is stated by Norwegian police in a press release according to the news agency NTB.
According to the charge, 27-year-old Marius Borg Høiby had sexual intercourse with a person who was unconscious or could not resist for other reasons.
According to the police, it is a sexual relationship other than intercourse, but it is therefore considered rape according to NTB’s information.
Høiby was arrested on Monday evening at 23.12.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s son is already being investigated for several other matters and has previously been arrested.
Thus he was arrested on 4 August in Oslo and charged with violence against his then girlfriend. Since then, he has also been charged with violence committed against two other women with whom he has previously been in a relationship.
According to NTB, Marius Borg Høiby was in a car with one of the victims from one of the other cases when he was arrested on Monday evening.
It is unknown how he relates to the latest charge.
It is also not clear who the victim is or when the assault must have taken place.
Marius Borg Høiby is the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, but is not formally part of the Norwegian royal house. This is because he was born before Mette-Marit married Crown Prince Haakon.
