Good news for MG, acronym for Morris Garages. The English car manufacturer, which has long been a SAIC Motor (China) shareholder, has achieved two results that are a source of joy for management. The new one MG HSfresh from its presentation, has earned the 5 stars in Euro NCAP testswhich evaluate the safety of automotive products offered on the market. This is undoubtedly a happy result for the C SUV, also due to the implications it could have on the perception of quality by potential customers.
The model performed very well in all the areas examined, standing out in particular in terms of the protection guaranteed to adult and child occupants, as well as vulnerable road users. The car had already earned 5 stars in 2019. Now it has been confirmed in the new one evolutionary stepwithin a framework of Euro NCAP protocols strengthened in tests and even more severe in judgements. Proof of the increasingly high safety standards guaranteed by MG HS.
We were talking about the good protection also guaranteed to others, that is, to those outside the passenger compartment, especially with reference to pedestrians and two-wheeled vehicles. This was made possible, among other things, by the package MG Pilot enhanced, which includes active emergency braking (AEB) and DOW, protection against “dooring”, i.e. the sudden opening of a door in the path of a cyclist approaching from behind. The presence of driving assistance devices (ADAS) is appreciable, capable of carrying out their task in the best possible way.
It is easy to understand the satisfaction of the top management for the 5 Euro NCAP stars earned by the new generation MG HS, expressed through the mouths of Andrea Bartolomeo (Vice President and Country Manager SAIC Motor Italy): “We are proud of the fact that the car has reconfirmed the high level of safety standards even with the most recent protocols”.
Other joys, for the brand across the Channel, come from access to MG3 Hybrid+ among the finalist cars for the coveted prize 2025 AUTOBEST Best Buy Car of Europewhich will be awarded in mid-December by 31 sworn journalists from all over Europe. They evaluated the models for their requirements for excellence in value, innovation and quality. Now we await the final selection, which will go through a series of in-depth road driving tests for the cars that have reached the final challenge, after the previous selections. With the MG3 Hybrid+, the English company SAIC Motor enters the B segment, covering all the key market areas in which it thinks it can compete with convincing arguments.
