MG plans to build a new manufacturing plant and research and development center in Mexico, with the move by the British company – under Chinese ownership – allowing it to produce vehicles, but also to produce “market intelligence” specifically designed for the Latin America.
MG did not say how much it plans to invest in building its new plant, which will help its global expansion, and did not give a construction timeline.
MG operates plants in China, Thailand and India, and has said it plans to open a plant in Europe, with sales of 127,425 cars in the first half, the most for a Chinese company.
