Microsoft gives the Xbox Wireless Headset a refreshing upgrade after 3 years

Microsoft has announced a new version of its Xbox Wireless Headset for the first time in three years. The headphones for gamers have a longer battery life, an improved microphone and better sound quality.

On the official website from Xbox, the Wireless Headset is called a refresh. So you don’t have to expect too many changes in terms of appearance. The difference with the previous model is that the green rings around the ear cups have disappeared.

Microsoft therefore mainly keeps the changes internal, with the biggest upgrade being the battery life. Where the previous model of the Xbox Wireless Headset lasted 15 hours on a full charge, this model will last 20 hours. You pay a little more for that. With a suggested retail price of 109.99 euros, the headphones are 10 euros more expensive than their predecessor.

Xbox Wireless Headset with improved microphone and sound quality

In addition to the optimized battery life, Microsoft has also improved the microphone. The Xbox Wireless Headset now features improved voice isolation so players can hear you better. If you don’t say anything, the auto-mute function will be activated, making it harder for other players to hear background noise.

Microsoft has also given the headset Dolby Atmos support, which significantly improves the sound quality. Bluetooth 5.3 should ensure that the headphones have a more stable connection with devices.

The previous Xbox Wireless Headset dates back to 2021. In the meantime, a wired version costing 59.99 euros was also released. It is not yet clear whether a wired version of the new headset will appear.
