Select members of the Xbox Insider program were given the opportunity to try out the new AI-powered chatbot. According to Microsoft, the Support Virtual Agent feature is intended to help players resolve their technical issues related to Xbox consoles and games. A new virtual assistant whose task is to make customer support more efficient.

Xbox has a virtual assistant

The new chatbot is now available to Xbox Insider members on the site support.xbox.com. It is only available in test mode for US users who have selected English as their preferred language. To use it, all they have to do is log in to the support pages with their account registered in the Xbox Insider Program.

After clicking “Enter a question”, the chatbot will open in a new window where users can ask questions either by text or by voice. At the same time, they have a choice of two different assistants, between which they can switch. Microsoft does not specify the differences between them.

In both cases, however, the source of information for relevant answers is the customer support database. If the chatbot is unable to answer the question, the user can request to be connected to a live operator.

Collects feedback

Microsoft is asking for feedback from all testers who try the new feature to help the Support Virtual Agent continue to improve. When interacting with an agent, users can use the thumbs up or thumbs down buttons to rate responses or send direct feedback.

Availability

It is uncertain at this time when the testing phase will end and Microsoft will expand the chatbot outside the US and add additional languages. A lot will depend on how the current testing turns out. We can only hope that the American members of Xbox Insider will receive the news positively and thus encourage Microsoft to expand it further.
