Microsoft releases Office 2024

Microsoft has long invested wholeheartedly in the subscription model, and with the exception of Windows licenses, the company mainly sells various subscriptions: Microsoft 365, Azure, Game Pass and so on. But the company is also aware that some users do not want or are not allowed to use subscriptions, and therefore sells, among other things, a version of old Office with the programs Word, Excel and Powerpoint as a classic license.

The last edition of the Office suite was released in 2021, and now it’s time again. On Wednesday, Microsoft released Office 2024 Home and Office 2024 Home and Business. In addition to the above-mentioned programs, the latter package also includes Outlook and a license that covers commercial use.

Office 2024 includes most of the new and improved features Microsoft has added to the four programs since 2021. Most obviously, the graphical interface has been modernized using the company’s Fluent Design design language.

Practical differences include reactions to comments, a function to easily paste images from connected Android mobiles, diagrams in Excel that point to dynamic tables, new functions to manipulate text and work with images in Excel, a function that connects a active camera to a page in a Powerpoint presentation, better search and higher performance.

Office 2024 Home costs SEK 1,800 while Home and Business comes off at SEK 3,600.
