It’s no secret that Microsoft has been trying to force Bing as the main search engine on users in many aspects of Windows for many years. But this time, they’re trying to make it look like they’re using Google.
So, if you try to search for “Google” again through Bing, without signing in to a Microsoft account, you will be greeted with a very familiar screen, all too similar to Google, with real results much lower than usual.
However, if you want to search for something through this strange search bar, you will find yourself back on the classic display of Bing results. Users who want to configure their new computer will be secretly navigated to the search engine from Microsoft.
She commented on the situation at twitterers and the director of Google Chrome, Parisa Tabriz:
“Impersonation is the sincerest form of flattery, but Microsoft’s spoofing of the Google homepage is another tactic in its long history of tricks to confuse users and limit choice. New Year; new bottom @Microsoft”
After all, this tactic is nothing new from Microsoft. In the past, for example, they tried to add notifications on the Google Chrome page, added pop-ups in the Chrome browser on Windows to force people to leave Google, but also put surveys on Chrome download pages.
On the other hand, it is important to say that Google is doing the same and is trying everywhere to seduce Edge users to its Chrome browser, similarly to other products.
