“After this date, if you use Microsoft 365 on a Windows 10 device, apps will continue to work as before. However, we strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 11 to avoid performance and reliability issues over time,” Microsoft said.

On December 31, 2024, the company stopped supporting the Calendar, People, and Windows Mail applications and recommended that users upgrade to a new version of the Outlook service.

Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10 in October 2025. Previously, the company offered owners of this OS to extend the ability to receive extended security updates (ESU) for another year for $30.

Enterprises will also be able to extend access to updates, but for several years. The first year will cost $61, the second will cost $122, and the third will cost $244.

The Verge wrotethat “millions of computers” cannot upgrade to Windows 11 because this OS only supports eighth-generation Intel processors, AMD Zen 2 and higher.
