Edge Game Assist can make finding and following help materials much easier.
Microsoft strives to give PC gamers every opportunity to enjoy recent releases the way they want. The newly introduced Edge Game Assist function also serves this purpose.
Hobbyist video game fans have never had a problem searching for anything related to a given title on a second display or switching to their browser by pressing ALT+TAB. However, Edge Game Assist is an in-game browser layer that can even be attached to the top of the game image.
The brand-new function allows us to open a browser in the Game Bar interface, which recognizes the currently running title and immediately takes us to the corresponding help materials. Since Edge Game Assist uses Microsoft’s browser, it will also contain our active logins, cookies and everything else. As a result, you can find the crutches we need in seconds, which we can then attach to our screen and follow easily.
For now, Edge Game Assist only works with keyboards, but Microsoft has promised that it will support handheld consoles and controllers in the future. The feature is already available for testing via the Preview Build, but only a few games are fully supported for now. These include Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo IV, and the aforementioned Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga.
Although there is a basic dislike of Edge among gamers, it could be so helpful that many will switch to Microsoft’s browser. At least that’s what the people of Redmond must be hoping for.
