Mike Tyson’s fight against influencer Jake Paul takes place this Saturday morning

After a year of speculation and anticipation, the boxing fight between legendary boxer Mike Tyson and YouTuber and influencer Jake Paul takes place in the early hours of this Saturday.

Originally scheduled for July 20, the event had to be postponed due to Tyson’s health issues. Now the wait is over and the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, in Texas, will be the stage for a fight that will be distributed around the world, including Portugal, via Netflix.

The 58-year-old former world heavyweight champion will face his specialty, 27-year-old influencer Jake Paul, in a boxing match. It’s the biggest age difference in a professional boxing fight.

Jake Paul already has victories against Nate Diaz, Anderson da Silva and Tyron Woodley, former UFC champions, Ben Askren, former Olympic wrestler, and Nate Robinson, former NBA player. He is, after all, the biggest figure in celebrity boxing that has become popular in recent years.

Typically, social media personalities challenge established athletes to an exhibition fight. Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, and his business partner KSI are two other YouTubers who have also become boxers.

These types of events are always shrouded in controversy and the most critical even suspect that there may be a combined result, but this is not usually proven. It is certain that, because of concerns about Mike Tyson’s health, doctors may bring the fight with Jake Paul to an end earlier than usual.

In addition to the usual exchange of insults that are typical to increase interest in the fight, this Thursday’s weigh-in event ended in controversy: Jake Paul stood in front of Mike Tyson on stage and the boxer responded with a slap, before both were separated by several people.

More blows will be dealt in the ring, starting at 1am this Saturday. Six more fights are scheduled, which could mean that Tyson x Paul doesn’t start until many hours into the morning.
