Million project will spread tourists all over Copenhagen

Et new EU project, for the next 3.5 years, will help map out how to ensure sustainable and balanced tourism in Copenhagen. With a budget of DKK 35 million, new methods must be developed to measure and manage tourism, before it turns into excess or mass tourism of the kind that has caused protests in a number of European cities during the summer of 2024 .

According to Mayor of Culture and Leisure in Copenhagen Municipality Mia Nyegaard (R), the hope is to move tourism to the parts of the city where visiting tourists have not yet found out that there is plenty to experience.
