Mini is recalling the 2007 Cooper SE because the high-voltage battery housing may not be watertight, risking water ingress. If this happens, then a message alerts the driver to an insulation fault.
Ignoring this warning can cause the battery to shut down while driving, causing the car to slow to a stop, creating a risk of accidents and injuries. In addition, there is a risk of fire, even when the vehicle is parked.
Mini Cooper SEs affected by this recall were manufactured between June 10, 2020 and December 1, 2022.
