Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that a total of 4.1 billion liras of home care assistance was deposited into the accounts of beneficiaries this month for fully dependent citizens and their families who are being cared for at home, and that 555 thousand citizens are currently benefiting from home care assistance.
Minister Göktaş stated in a written statement that home care assistance was initiated in 2006 with the idea of supporting disabled individuals primarily with their families, and said, “We prioritize providing care at home to our disabled citizens in a way that preserves their family unity. With home care assistance, we support the preservation and strengthening of family unity by living with their families or relatives without leaving their living environment. As a ministry, we develop policies with a rights-based perspective so that disabled individuals can fully access their basic rights such as education, health, security and employment. We try to reach every individual in society with the holistic and fair social service models we develop.”
Göktaş, who stated that while a monthly payment of 7,608 liras was made per beneficiary in the January-July 2024 period within the scope of home care assistance, the assistance was increased to 9,077 liras with the new regulation in the July civil servant salary coefficient, announced that the payments will be deposited into the accounts of beneficiaries in August in an increasing manner. Göktaş said, “We deposited a total of 4.1 billion liras of home care assistance into the accounts for fully dependent citizens and their families who are being cared for at home this month. Currently, 555 thousand citizens are benefiting from home care assistance. Within the framework of our ‘Turkey Century’ vision, as a ministry, we will continue our efforts to ensure that rights-based social assistance in the field of disability is sustainable with a transparent understanding. I wish that the payments will be beneficial to all our disabled citizens and their families.”
