Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat announced the foreign trade figures for July at a press conference. Exports saw a monthly increase of 13.8 percent in July.
Minister Bolat’s statements are as follows:
We are making the necessary arrangements. The development growth rates are 5.4 percent annually. Thank God, our Turkey has risen to the league of countries with a national income of more than 1 trillion dollars. Our national income per capita has increased to 13,110 dollars. Reaching 14-15 thousand dollars is not a dream.
The foreign trade deficit decreased by 42.3% in July to 7.2 billion dollars. We broke the highest July export record in history. We achieved a monthly increase of 13.8 percent. We achieved an increase of 2.7 billion dollars in 1 month. This corresponds to 13.8 percent. We sincerely thank our exporters. Annualized exports were 261.5 billion dollars. We closed the gap in July and entered the plus. We reached 261.5 dollars. Our total exports of goods had increased by 3.4 percent in the last year. According to our calculations, if there is no new tension or war, we have saved up like a piggy bank and have reached our target of 267 billion dollars, and we will see this figure in December.
After these two records, I will go into detail. Another very good news. The decreasing trend in imports continues. We managed to decrease by 8 percent in July imports. The imports that are necessary for the country are already being made here. We are seriously fighting against imports that can put Turkey’s industries in a difficult situation, especially by seeing Turkey as a market. As a result of these efforts, we saved 2.6 billion dollars in monthly imports and kept it below 30 billion dollars. The foreign trade deficit decreased by 42 percent, falling to 7.2 billion dollars.
