MINISTER Tatjana Macura addressed the citizens of Serbia through her Instagram profile, in connection with the celebration of the International Day against Violence Against Women:
Dear citizens of Serbia, we celebrate November 25th as the International Day of Combating Violence Against Women – a day that reminds us that every woman deserves a life without fear and violence.
As a sign of support for the victims and as a symbol of hope, the Belgrade Tower tonight lights up in orange, which is the color of this day around the world.
We would like to take this opportunity to tell all women who face violence that they are not alone. A support system exists!
Institutions are working to strengthen protection mechanisms, but the support of all of us is also needed. Report violence on 192 – because every report can save a life.
Together we can build a Serbia where every woman will feel safe, respected and supported, today and every day”
