Minister Yoo In-chon visits disaster preparedness site to inspect safety

Emphasize safety accident prevention to affiliated and public institutions

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In-chon emphasized the prevention of safety accidents and thorough facility management to each affiliated organization and public institution on the 17th. This request was made after receiving a report on the damage from the heavy rain and the safety inspection items. As the direct damage area has increased due to the recent heavy rain, safety inspections at cultural, sports and tourism sites will be strengthened.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has already inspected drainage ditches and flooding equipment at 171 facilities under its jurisdiction since last month in preparation for heavy rains during the summer. Safety inspections will also be conducted at 256 water parks and 1,550 swimming pools by next month.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, “Minister Yoo will personally visit cultural, sports, and tourism sites expected to be damaged by heavy rain to inspect their safety,” and “For the time being, he plans to focus on on-site inspections to prepare for summer disasters.”
