The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 18th that the 2024 Korea Energy Awards were held.
The eco-friendly vehicle purchase target system is a system introduced in 2022, and in order to promote high-efficiency eco-friendly vehicles and achieve the goal of distributing eco-friendly vehicles, private companies such as large corporations, car rental businesses, and transportation operators purchase or lease new vehicles by 6 to 22% or more. It is a system that sets goals for eco-friendly purchases.
SK O&S received the grand prize for establishing its own eco-friendly vehicle conversion plan and converting about 200 internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles. Other award winners included SK Networks Service, Hanjin, Sunjin Bus, and Daegu Taxi Cooperative. .
This award is part of the ‘Eco-friendly Mobility Regulatory Innovation Plan’ announced in January of this year, and awarded five companies that achieved outstanding performance, such as mass introduction of high-efficiency, domestically produced eco-friendly vehicles, among companies that met the eco-friendly vehicle purchase goal.
Starting next year, we plan to encourage more companies to participate in the eco-friendly car purchase target system by dramatically reducing the purchase performance verification process by using automobile management information system data.
An official from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said, “Through this award, we will recognize the contributions of companies that actively participated in the transition to eco-friendly cars and continue to pursue policies to improve the competitiveness of the domestic eco-friendly car industry and revitalize its distribution.”
